The highlight of the recent EB-5 conference in Las Vegas was Congressman Polis’ discussion of his bill H.R. 4178 — American Entrepreneurship and Investment Act of 2014.
The bill was the focus of a panel which included United States Congressman Jared Polis, Laura Reiff of Greenberg Traurig, Pat Hogan of CMB Regional Centers and Bill Gresser of EB-5 New York State. The Congressman took the opportunity to explain the legislation and fielded questions and suggestions from the panelists and the audience.
Congressman Polis explained that the American Entrepreneurship and Investment Act of 2014 would reform the EB-5 Immigrant Investor visa program and make it permanent. As he said when he introduced the bill, “The EB-5 program provides significant injections of capital and talent to our economy and, with the improvements we make in this bill, will ensure that the best and brightest minds from around the world continue to come here with their ideas and business.”
Bill Gresser of EB-5 New York State thanked the Congressman for his leadership. “Congressman Polis has been an outspoken supporter of the EB-5 program since his earliest days in Congress. We are excited by his bill, not only because of the substance of the bill, but also because the bill has support from both Democratic and Republican members who want to continue and improve the EB-5 program and the new US jobs it creates.”
